Business Development Manager, Streamvale Open Farm

“The Young Enterprise Company programme was one of the best experiences I had at school. I was the ‘MD’ of our jewellery making business, which actually made a profit! Our company came runner up in the NI finals and I was selected to represent NI along with other students at a business conference in Toronto.  The CANJAC conference was a fantastic opportunity, meeting and working on projects with like minded people from all over the world! This experience inspired me to have a career in business, and my first step was to complete a degree in Business Management from Queens University Management School. I then wanted to gain as much experience as I could and went into sales working for two companies in the agriculture industry.

“I am now the Business Development Manager at Streamvale Open Farm, which I love. I launched a new retail business onsite in February 2016 which has been very successful to date. I am currently working on developing our website, launching online ticket sales and developing a marketing strategy in order to increase footfall. This year is our 30th Birthday and to celebrate we are also opening a state of the art ‘role play’ farm village at Streamvale. This will include a pretend milking parlour, vets clinic and farm shop to name a few and will enable children to not only play but actually learn about the countryside through role play.
