YOUR MONEY MATTERS

Your Money Matters has been designed for use with young people age 14 – 16 in Northern Ireland and covers topics including spending and saving, borrowing, debt, insurance, student finance & future planning.

Funded by Martin Lewis, founder of MoneySavingExpert.com, this curriculum-mapped textbook was developed in 2018 and Money & Pensions Service funded an updated version for NI in 2021.

This textbook is a natural extension to the Financial Education Planning Frameworks and includes guidance on issues such as: 

• Saving and spending

• Borrowing

• Good and bad debt

• Risk and rewards

• Insurance

• Investments

• Future planning around student loans

• Tax and national insurance

This textbook is free to download as a PDF. Additional support for teachers can be found in the accompanying Teacher’s Guide contained within the download of the textbook. PowerPoint versions of each chapter for you to use in your lessons, or edit and tailor sections of the content depending on the age and ability of your class can be found below.
