Financial Education Conference in collaboration with Money and Pensions Service

We were delighted to recently host a Financial Education Conference in collaboration with Money and Pensions Service, bringing together educators and partners from across Northern Ireland who share a passion for empowering young people with essential financial skills.

It was a pleasure to welcome so many like-minded, dedicated professionals, all committed to strengthening financial education and ensuring the next generation is equipped with the knowledge and confidence they need for their future. The energy in the room was truly inspiring, with meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and a collective drive to make a lasting impact in schools and communities.

Throughout the day, attendees engaged with practical resources, real-world examples, and innovative approaches to embedding financial capability across the curriculum. We hope all participants left feeling more confident and better equipped to support financial education action planning within their schools.

We extend our sincere thanks to our fantastic presenters and contributors who shared their expertise and insights:

  • Money and Pensions Service NI

  • Queen’s University Belfast Careers Service

  • CCEA

  • Consumer Council for Northern Ireland

  • Stranmillis University College

  • Money Ready

  • Gary, Centre of Excellence Teacher from St Paul’s High School, Bessbrook

Their contributions helped bring the Financial Education Guidance to life, demonstrating practical and impactful ways to embed financial education across Primary, Post-primary and SEN settings.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Money and Pensions Service for the opportunity to support schools in embedding the Financial Foundations guidance, endorsed by Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment, into everyday teaching practice.

A particular thank you goes to Sarah Travers for expertly hosting the day and facilitating engaging and thought-provoking discussions that encouraged collaboration and idea-sharing among attendees.

The conference also highlighted the Money Guiders programme, which offers valuable training opportunities, events, and professional development resources for those supporting financial wellbeing. We encourage all educators to explore these opportunities to further enhance their confidence and capability in delivering financial education.

If you would like to revisit materials from the day or explore additional resources, please visit yeni.co.uk. Should you have any questions or require support as you develop your school’s financial education plans, the Young Enterprise NI team would be delighted to assist.

Thank you once again to everyone who attended and contributed to such a positive, collaborative, and impactful day. Together, we are helping to shape a financially capable future generation.
